165 Reflection of First Year in Education

As I have stated before, I am already in my third year of education. My reflection is going to be a little bit different. I started my first year of education in 2017. I was attending the Lakeland college campus in Lloydminster. I was living with my parents at the time because I had just gotten knee surgery and I decided to take a U of S transfer program at lakeland so that i was not an extra year behind. At lakeland they did not have any education classes or learning communities like they do here. They only had basic classes that went towards my major and minor.

When my first year was up, I moved to Saskatoon to attend my first year here but my second year of education. Because lakeland did not offer specific education classes, I was behind and had to take seven classes a semester to try and catch up. It was a lot on my plate and I barely made it through. I honestly was not thinking about becoming a teacher in my second year, I was worried about getting all of the credits and courses that I needed done.

Now that I am in my third year I know who I am as a teacher and I do feel like I am becoming a teacher. I am just trying to balance everything that is on my plate. I think that my third year has been the toughest year so far because I have taken 12 classes, I have been teaching both semesters, I have a part time job, and I have been dealing with a lot of health related obstacles. Yes teaching still appeals to me. I think it always will.
